“Neurotic is a graphic representation of the inner journey towards my creative rebirth. For a birth it’s necessary before an act of sex, so I decided to make love with myself! An act of creative masturbation that gave birth to a new sense of self-awareness.”
The project is born during the lockdown as an action and a reaction of the free time we got from the forced quarantine.
A creative process leading into a healing process. Neurotic is a collection of editorial pictures, artworks and collages that describes that process. Referentiality it is the reading tool and also the key element of the project’s visual language. The book gathers together several references and inspirations, among which the list includes  “The Birth of Tragedy” written by Frederick Nietzsche, Dante’s Divine Comedy, “The Marriage of Heaven and Hell” by William Blake, along with the Madonna’s sex book (from which the book takes its name, Neurotic as an ironic tribute to the album Erotica) and many others. The contents are related to the dichotomy between sacred and profane, hell and heaven, pop and intellectual.
From styling to stripping off, from reworking to composing, something old, something borrowed and definitely more than just something nude. In conclusion Neurotic is a recap and at the same time a declension of the different scopes of my creativity.
